Bonding

For those patients who have healthy, but malformed, chipped or cracked teeth, we offer bonding.

Bonding involves applying a plastic resin to the tooth and then sculpting it to correct the chip or crack.

The dentist prepares the tooth for bonding by lightly etching the surface, and apply a bonding liquid. This liquid will be what holds the bond to the surface of the natural tooth. Once the bonding agent begins to harden, the dentist applies a plastic resin and sculpts it into the desired shape.

As soon as the resin sets the dentist will trim and polish it to yield a natural appearance.

Bonding can enhance the aesthetic qualities of any smile, and can be done in only one office visit.
